Why Retail?

Retail is a crucial driving force for the emergency response and preparedness scenario. The whole country needs to be planned, retail companies need to plan their goods and services stock and need to move them to different locations to enhance the overall reach and optimise their logistics to help the whole nation (or the affected regions) to answer a specific emergency. Retail companies need to be able to independently manage their supply chain and goods stock, to be prepared for the worst scenario possible. But more than that, retail can move extra goods due to their complex logistics network and can be a crucial asset to connect communities in need.

Retail plays a crucial role in moving the essential goods everywhere at any time. And for that reason, the logistics part of a retail company supply chain is a vital emergency asset that can be available for emergency situations.

02.

Why Industries?

The chemical industry represents a crucial sector for the emergency life cycle, from prevention to recovery scenario. When a whole world faces a pandemic and medical and food sectors are the essential sectors of survival, the whole infrastructure should be planned and prepared.

Having sectors previously prioritized help societies answer possible emergencies and other hazard events. Chemical industries need to be able to independently manage their supply chains and sectors, to be prepared for the worst scenario possible.

03.

Why Hospitals?

As the world faced one of the greatest crisis in the world in the recent past, the need for hospital environments to prevent, prepare, respond and recover from emergency scenarios similar to those experienced during the most critical phase of COVID-19 has become quite evident. With this in mind, hospitals are required to have an Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) which describes how a facility will respond to and recover from all hazards.

According to the Joint Commission’s Emergency Management Standards, the EOP should include six critical elements: 1) communications, 2) resources and assets, 3) safety and security, 4) staff responsibilities, 5) utilities, and 6) clinical support activities. Hospitals with full knowledge of how to act during each emergency phase will have the ability to respond to a range of emergencies varying in scale, duration, and cause.

04.

Why Civil Protection?

Disasters know no borders and can hit one or several countries simultaneously without warning. Having a well-coordinated joint response means that national authorities are overwhelmed. By pooling together civil protection capacities and capabilities, it allows for a stronger and more coherent collective response during an emergency cycle.

05.

Why Insurance?

Risk assessment & insurance services shall be put in place during all the emergency cycles to inform every actor and organization evolved. Having information from human activity, structures, to natural resources, these services help to determine the impacts of different emergency scenarios.

06.

Why Crowds?

Emergency planning includes assumptions about crowd behavior and these assumptions matter, as they can operate as rationales for emergency management practices.
